Hud is the Founder and former CEO of Chi Rho Corporation. His first trip to Romania in 1992 was to change the trajectory of his life as he searched for ways to improve the living conditions for the fifty HIV positive, orphaned, and abandoned children living in a state orphanage called PC-3.
Over the years Hud served as a liaison between his church in California and a local Romanian church that resulted in a warm and fruitful relationship. After Chi Rho was officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the US and in Romania, this connection facilitated the physical acquisition and remodeling of the orphanage. Staff recruitment, training, and operational procedures were established with the help of the Romanian church, and mutual visits by pastors from both churches regularly occurred. A Chi Rho Medical and Dental Clinic opened and a Foster Care program for the children was created.
Two decades later, under Hud’s leadership, Chi Rho Corporation has a strong financial base to care for these special needs children in perpetuity. As Hud has often said, “the goal has always been to care for these kids for as long as is needed as if they were our own children.”
Hud has worked in the real estate development and investment business from 1973 to the present. Prior to his work in Romania, Hud served on several church boards and particularly enjoyed working with a poor and homeless ministry in San Jose, CA.
Married for 51 years to Cynthia, Hud enjoys sharing time with the families of their three grown daughters and five grandchildren.
